How to Vote
  Voting Requirements

The general geographic boundaries of Ward 1 are from the northern district of Leawood south to 103rd street State Line on the East to Mission Road. There are a few exceptions to these boundaries however if you are not certain please see the attached highlighted district map at right.

In the event you are unsure, send us a message and we will help you find out!

• You must be registered to vote!

• Make sure you are registered to vote--the deadline is March 22nd to vote in the April 6th general election.

• To register, you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • Resident of Kansas
  • Reached 18 years of age by election day

First time voters must show identification during the process (please consult with Johnson County Election Office for consultation)

• First time registrants may file at Leawood City Hall (4800 Town Center Drive, Leawood, Kansas 66211) at the Johnson County Election Office (2101 E Kansas City Road, Olathe, Kansas 66061) or other sites specified by Johnson County Election Office.

Advanced voting begins in person at the Johnson County Election Office - 2101 E Kansas City Road, Olathe, Kansas 6606

9:00 am - 5:00 PM Tuesday - Friday

April 3rd
9:00 am - 3:00 PM Saturday

April 5th
9:00 am - Noon - Monday

3) Away from home? Vote in advance by mail - starts March 17th

  Tips for Advanced Voting - Null & Void if Not Complete
  • Voters MUST sign and list residence address on the outside of the ballot envelope.
  • Signature on the outside of the ballot envelop MUST match the name on the mailing label
  • Ballot MUST be received by 7:00pm on Election Day
  • Voted ballots returned by mail or in person AFTER Election Day cannot be counted

If you forget to mail your advance ballot, you may vote provisionally at your polling place on Election Day.
